Faith has to be lived between Sundays.
Christus Lumen exists to help Catholic parents navigate the questions, doubts and difficult faith moments that come as children grow, while offering prayer, clear Catholic teaching and practical resources for the life of faith at home.
Passing on the faith gets more complicated as children grow.
When children are young, faith can feel relatively straightforward. You bring them to Mass. You teach them their prayers. They prepare for the sacraments. You answer the questions you can.
Then they get older.
The questions become harder. Friends, school, sports, screens and the wider culture begin shaping how they see the world. A child who once followed along may begin asking why the family goes to Mass, whether Catholic teaching makes sense or whether they believe any of it at all.
Those moments do not need to become a crisis every time they happen. Parents need clear, trustworthy help understanding what the Church teaches, thinking through the situation in front of them and keeping the conversation about faith open.
That is the work Christus Lumen is built around.
Practical help rooted in the Catholic faith.
Each part of Christus Lumen has a different purpose, but they are meant to work together.

Catholic doctrine and practical parenting judgment are not the same thing. When Christus Lumen explains what the Church teaches, those claims are grounded where appropriate in sources such as Sacred Scripture, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, Vatican documents, canon law and the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops.
When a question involves family circumstances, prudential judgment or a situation that may require pastoral or professional support, the aim is to say that clearly rather than present one practical approach as universal Catholic teaching.
Christus Lumen is a lay-run project. It does not carry an imprimatur and does not replace the guidance of a parish priest or other appropriate Church authority when a serious theological, sacramental or pastoral question requires one.
The goal is simple: explain the faith faithfully, distinguish doctrine from practical guidance and make both useful in ordinary life.

The name Christus Lumen points back to the purpose behind everything here: helping the light of Christ remain present not only at Mass, but in the questions, conversations, prayers and ordinary moments of everyday Catholic life.
